Inspiring the Next Generation at Ada Lovelace CoE School
The Schools’ Aerospace Careers Programme (ACP) continued its 2025/26 school outreach with a visit to Ada Lovelace Church of England School in Ealing on Monday 20th October 2025. The session welcomed around 115 students, including attendees from several neighbouring schools, for an interactive day of discovery into the rapidly advancing world of aerospace and aviation.
The morning began with a series of presentations led by Chris Marshall, Ogi Damjanovic, and Mike Stokes, each offering a unique insight into the diverse opportunities within the aerospace industry. Chris opened with an engaging overview of how technology, sustainability, and innovation are redefining aerospace careers. Ogi followed with a deep dive into virtual reality design and immersive digital technologies, while Mike concluded with a practical look at the route to becoming a commercial pilot.
In the afternoon, students took part in ACP’s interactive breakout sessions which were an opportunity to explore aerospace concepts in action. FPV drone simulators, operated by Chris Marshall, gave students hands-on flight control experience. Mike Stokes guided participants through the VR flight experience, and Ogi Damjanovic led the 3D VR design sessions, where students could engage creatively with virtual design environments.
The event also featured Spot, the quadruped robot from Boston Dynamics, whose live demonstrations drew strong reactions from students and staff alike, highlighting the real-world overlap between robotics, engineering, and aerospace innovation.
The day was coordinated by Careers Lead Georgia Fernandez, whose support and enthusiasm contributed greatly to the event’s success. She later commented:
“Fantastic event and communication throughout. Really informative and engaging presentations. Student feedback has been really positive. Breakout sessions are brilliant. Thank you so much!”
ACP extends its thanks to Ada Lovelace CoE School for its warm welcome and collaboration. The strong engagement and enthusiasm shown throughout the day reflected the continued success of ACP’s mission to connect students with real-world technologies and career pathways shaping the future of aerospace.
