Presentations resume following the half-term holidays – with the added spice of Virtual Reality
On 7 November the ACP Roadshow was joined by Chelton – a powerful presence in the aviation and defence industries with their expertise in communications, navigation and electronic warfare – when we visited the William Perkin CofE High School in Greenford. Also in the audience were pupils from Twyford CofE School, Ealing Fields High School and Ada Lovelace CofE School, all four schools being members of the Twyford CofE Academies Trust. As always Spot was a centre of attention, but on this occasion he had serious competition from our new suite of very inter-active AR/VR systems which, quite literally, enabled a host of pupils to enter a very hands-on ‘world of aerospace’, the software for which was provided by VRPilot.
The afternoon was a great success with 120 pupils taking part. So our warmest thanks go to Nouman Rashid and Rikesh Poonja from Chelton, to Vincent White from AtkinsRealis, to all the schools and, especially, Ms Amy Newman, Headteacher, for agreeing to host the presentation and, in particular, to Laila Bana, KS5 Science Coordinator, for making all the internal arrangements run so smoothly and successfully.
