The ACP & VRpilot light up the imagination of students for a career in aerospace and aviation
VRpilot is a company that specializes in creating virtual reality training applications for professional aviation use. Their solutions are designed to maximize immersion and realism, making them effective tools for procedure training, cockpit familiarization, and other training needs for airlines, air forces, and aviation training organizations.
Since the ACP introduced VR systems into its Roadshow Presentations during November 2023 well over 1,200 young people have experienced flight operations from the pilot’s perspective courtesy of VRpilot. As we are about to commence our 2024/25 season of Presentations to groups of schools across the UK, and therefore up to 2,500 students and teachers, our chairman, speaking on behalf of his fellow Trustees and all members of the ACP Team, would like to put the following comment on record:
“VRpilot’s software, coupled with ten sets of Meta Quest 3 headsets – alongside drone flight simulators with their 85” screens and a Boston Dynamics robot ‘Spot’ which is fitted with AI and Voice – substantially enhances the effectiveness of the ACP’s presentations. For this particularly significant hands-on capability the Trustees cannot thank our partners at VRpilot enough!”
We suggest the following quote from St Philomena’s Catholic High School for Girls sums it all up: “The event overall was amazing, there was a lot of information on how engineering will, and has, shaped the future. The activities were a lot of fun and with variety, some of which I have never experienced before. I would love to attend another event like this again.”
Daniel Maass, a Partner with VRpilot, said: “As a company dedicated to excellence in aviation training we are delighted to ignite the passion for aviation among young people with the ACP. Our mission is to help pilots reach their full potential through cutting edge technology for the benefit of safety and efficiency. Teaming up with the ACP enables us to invite young people to join us in the wonderful world of aviation.”
