What Supporting Companies do
Supporting Companies fund the SACP, with the option to attend Roadshow visits in person. Where a company joins a visit, they deliver their own presentation to students aged 14 to 16, and some presentations also cater for those aged 16 to 18. The level of involvement is shaped around what each company can offer.
The SACP handles preparation, planning and delivery of every visit. Supporting Companies arrive on the day, deliver their presentation as part of the main session and run their breakout area. Everything else, from scheduling to school liaison, is handled by the SACP team.
Beyond Roadshow visits, Supporting Companies are listed on the SACP website and feature in the digital careers materials sent to schools every three months. Where it fits within the scope of the programme, the SACP also supports companies with wider careers outreach to its schools network.
Industry presentation slot
Each Roadshow has three talks by the SACP’s own industry professionals, plus slots for up to two Supporting Companies. All talks sit within the main two-hour session, in front of students aged 14 to 16 (up to age 18).
Dedicated breakout area
Supporting Companies have their own breakout area for hands-on activities and conversation with smaller groups. This sits alongside the SACP-led technology breakouts during the same part of the school day.
Visibility across the SACP network
Visibility continues after the Roadshow. Supporting Companies are listed on the SACP website and appear in the digital careers materials sent to schools every three months, reaching students, teachers and parents in the terms that follow.
All preparation handled
The SACP manages preparation, scheduling and on-the-day delivery in full. Supporting Companies arrive, deliver their presentation and host their breakout area.
The SACP's National Reach
Through the SACP, Supporting Companies engage with students, teachers and parents across the country. The programme has reached over 800 schools to date, with delivery built up year on year over six years of in-school work. The SACP has delivered across England and Scotland and is equipped to deliver throughout the United Kingdom: the mobile model travels readily to Wales, and visits to Northern Ireland are planned so that several schools benefit from each trip.
